Arab NeuroSynapse Newsletter
In celebration of the 6th year for the success of the Society for Arab Neuroscientists, we are very proud of our members and want to feature their accomplishments and successes in our very own Arab NeuroSynapse newsletter. This newsletter will only have an online version of the newsletter, and will consist of Accolades for our members (recent publications, awards, grants and honors). We will also have 1-2 articles relating to topics that might interest our members. We anticipate the first issue to be online sometime in January 2012. To submit articles for consideration to be published in the newsletter, please e-mail them to newsletter@arabneuroscientists.org. To submit your accomplishments to be featured in the newsletter, please submit them through this link.

The "Dr. Raniyah Ramadan Young Arab Neuroscientist" Travel Award
The Society for Arab Neuroscientists is pleased to present the "Dr. Raniyah Ramadan Young Arab Neuroscientist" Travel Award. This award is made possible by a generous contribution from the Dr. Raniyah Ramadan foundation in memory of Dr. Raniyah Ramadan.

The award recipient for the Dr. Raniyah Ramadan Young Arab Neuroscientists Travel Award for 2011 was Dr. Mohammad M. Herzallah.

Dr. Herzallah is a medical doctor who is now pursuing his Ph.D. in Neuroscience under the mentorship of Dr. Mark Gluck in the Department of Behavioral and Neural Science at Rutgers, The State University in New Jersey, USA.
The title of his presentation at the Neuroscience 2011 meeting was “Depression Impairs Chaining Whereas Serotonin Specific Reuptake Inhibitors Impair Contextual Learning In Patients with Major Depressive Disorder”

Application deadline was October 24th, 2011.
